About Cathy

I am a clinical social worker and case manager who supports children, young people and their families following serious injury. Since 2015, I have worked in hospital and community settings, supporting children with complex medical conditions, severe injuries, and chronic illness. My focus is on working closely with families during difficult times, helping them to understand what is happening, access the right supports, and make decisions that align with their goals and values.

I provide practical, family-centred case management from the time of hospital admission through to community-based rehabilitation and return to school and home life. I understand the emotional impact of trauma and how it can affect the whole family. My approach is collaborative, respectful and calm. I value clear communication and am committed to ensuring that each child and family feels heard, supported and well-informed.

I am skilled in working with multidisciplinary medical and therapy teams, supporting discharge planning, coordinating services in the community, and helping families to engage with clinical treatment plans. I also work directly with schools and community providers to ensure that supports are consistent across environments. My training in youth work and experience in transition planning help me support young people who are moving into new stages of care or development.

I bring a strong foundation in clinical assessment, written communication and representing the needs and preferences of families within healthcare and service systems. I take pride in building strong, trusting relationships with families. My role is to walk alongside families through what can often be a complex and confronting time, providing clarity and consistent support along the way.
