James Barben
James has over 18 years of experience across the mining, power, and consulting sectors, with a strong background in policy, operations, and stakeholder engagement.
Since 2017, he has served as Director of Policy at NSW Minerals Council, where he leads key portfolios including health and safety, workforce development, and the Upper Hunter Mining Dialogue.
Prior to this role, James spent more than a decade working in the mining industry. He holds a Bachelor of Environmental Science and Management and serves as a Non-Executive Director of Coal Services, which operates Coal Mines Insurance, Coal Services Health, and Mines Rescue.
