Acknowledging icare's connection to country and recognition of the Traditional Custodians of the lands we work and live on.
Acknowledgement of Country
If you need help accessing this video content, please email accessibility@icare.nsw.gov.au.
Acknowledging Country is a simple but powerful act of respect, connection, and cultural recognition. It reflects our commitment to walking alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in a spirit of partnership, trust, and reconciliation.
As we progress from our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) to our Innovate RAP later this year, this video helps embed cultural respect – for each other and the communities we serve.
This video has been a major project led by our inclusion, diversity and brand teams as part of our Reconciliation Action Plan and represents an important step in our ongoing journey towards reconciliation. This unique acknowledgement connects the people and lands where icare offices are located, and the work we do at icare to help NSW communities and First Nations people to thrive.
icare would like to thank and acknowledge the many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have appeared and contributed to the creation of this video including:
- Diramu Aboriginal Dance and Didgeridoo
- Aunty Maxine Ryan (Dharawal)
- Brendan Kerin, Cultural Educator and Advisor for the Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council
- Mark Munk Ross, a Jardwadjali man, MunkFunk Productions.
